When deciding to do some upgrading to your home, whether it’s a full blown home remodel, or maybe just a piece at a time, it’s super important to choose a theme and commit! Many times we see homes where a remodel was completed, but its clear that there was no common theme. This can be a turn off to a set of buyers who require cohesiveness in all main elements of their home (kitchen & bathrooms).
This kitchen has granite with older refaced cabinets and older white appliances. Although it shows nicely & is livable, it doesn’t quite match the rest of the home.
This common bath appears to have had a more recent remodel with marble throughout, with white cabinets.
Here is the master bath, still with the marble theme, although these black-brown cabinets don’t coincide with the common bath cabinets.
Keeping a theme throughout your home will help with the resale value and look more aesthetically pleasing. Even if you can’t imagine ever selling your home, keep this tip in mind! Life is unexpected and we want you to be prepared as best you can! Below is an example of a home with perfect cohesiveness and theme!
